Perquimans Co. crews working structure fire

PERQUIMANS, N.C. – Emergency crews from Perquimans County, North Carolina, worked to control a structure fire in the 100 block of River Cove Lane Friday night.

Dispatchers received multiple calls about the incident around 9 p.m.

Officials said the Durant Neck Fire Department and multiple agencies helped to control the one story house fire.

The house received major fire damage, along with a boat and car near the house.

Crews remained on scene conducting salvage and overhaul until shortly after midnight this morning

The family has another house in the area which is where they will live while repairs and restoration are done.

Officials are still investigating the cause of the fire, but believe that there is nothing suspicious about it.
