Crews battling wind-driven brush fire in Gloucester

GLOUCESTER, Va. – Abingdon Volunteer Fire and Rescue is battling a brush fire in the Guinea section of Gloucester Friday night.

Crews said the fire originally started as a number of separate fires but has now been contained to primarily the Jenkins Neck area of the city.

The fires spread due to the severe winds that have been moving through the area.

There is no further information.
