PORTSMOUTH, Va. – Portsmouth firefighters were called to the baseball field at Simondale Elementary School Saturday afternoon for a brush fire.
Firefighters responded to the scene after dispatchers received a call about the fire around 12:00 p.m. Saturday.
Officials said that two engine companies put the fire out and that the fire remained under control.
There were no report of any injuries and the cause of the fire is unknown.
