LANDOVER, Md. – Won and done. That’s at stake for the slumping Redskins Sunday.

Already eliminated from playoff contention, Washington – currently third place in the NFC East division – can sweep the NFC West division with a victory vs. Arizona at FedEx Field. The Redskins, 5-and-8 on the season, already have victories this season at the Los Angeles Rams (27-20 in Week 2), San Francisco 49ers (26-24 in Week 6) and Seattle Seahawks (17-14 in Week 9).

The burgundy and gold’s final cross-division duel vs. the NFC West comes Sunday as the 6-and-7 Cardinals visit Landover with the Redskins seeking a sweep of a full division for only the second time since divisional realignment in 2002. Washington also swept the NFC West in 2005.

Arizona is making its first visit to FedEx Field since 2011. All eight meetings between the Cardinals and Redskins since 2002 have been one-possession games – including last year’s 31-23 Arizona victory in Glendale.

Washington must win-out to avoid its first losing season since 2014.

“[A victory] would get us out of the doldrums a little bit,” Redskins head coach Jay Gruden said Friday. “I think everybody’s moved on from the last couple of games. We lost two bad ones, and now I think people are excited to get back to the field and try to change course a little bit. A win does a lot for your mental state of mind.”

The Redskins and Cardinals kickoff at 1pm. News 3, Hampton Roads’ home of the Redskins, will be at FedEx Field for the game – as we are for every home contest.
