Court records: Pregnant woman loses fetus after stabbing in Chesapeake

CHESAPEAKE, Va - Court records indicate a pregnant woman was stabbed multiple times.

Chesapeake Police said they got the call on October 12 at 7:45 a.m. about an assault. Records indicate the caller told dispatch a woman was beat up and there was blood everywhere.

The records state the victim was extremely bloody and suffering from apparent injuries and while receiving medical treatment it was determined that her fetus no longer had a heartbeat.

Police said the victim is 26 years old and was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

News 3 went to the  home where the alleged stabbing took place.  A woman who identified herself as  the homeowner said the suspect and the victim were not supposed to be in her home.  She said she was out of town and another man let them inside.

She said she was caring for her son out-of-state after he had heart surgery.  She said when she returned to the home the walls were covered in blood.  She said it looked like animals were slaughtered inside the home and blood was found in almost every room.

She said she felt bad for the woman and that she was in shock.

The suspect who was on scene was taken into custody.

The suspect has been charged with Malicious Wounding. He was identified as 29-year-old Alonzo Payne.

Payne is currently being held in the Chesapeake Jail.
