Marine Stranding Team responds to entangled dolphin

CHESAPEAKE, Va. — A dolphin was rescued Tuesday after becoming tangled in a crab pot line near the Monitor-Merrimac Memorial Bridge Tunnel.

The Marine Stranding Response Team received the call around noon about the entangled dolphin. The team went out and checked the dolphin’s condition and freed it from the crab pot lines.

Virginia Marine Resources Commission assisted with the rescue.
