CHESAPEAKE, Va. - The Great Bridge High Sschool baseball team had their third Annual Halloween game Wednesday afternoon.

It was no question to choose former student Sabrina Mundorff as their cause.

Athletic director of Great Bridge High School Sean Townsend said, "It wasn't a very tough choice. It was a very tragic event that really hit our community hard and we thought like we could do something to help them."

A truck crashed into the SUV that Sabrina's friend, Kaitlyn Duffy was driving back in May.

The impact killed Duffy and Sabrina was severely injured.

Wednesday's game had raffles and prizes, including games, food and face painting for kids.

"It's definitely emotional because everyone's out here to support her, but it's going good," said Great Bridge High School student, Skylar Hewitt. "As long as she gets support."

All proceeds will go towards Mundorff's intensive therapy in Chesapeake to help her live a normal life again.

Mundorff's mother Debbie Leger tells News 3's Aleah Hordges, "People have been so great. All the prayers that people said for her have truly payed off."

Leger mentioned that health insurance doesn't cover all of her therapy and the road to recovery is long.

She hopes to have Mundorff attend college and pursue her dreams of becoming a doctor someday.

"Everything we're doing is working for that to get her close to what she was when she woke up in the morning of May 19th." Leger added.

People have also been donating to Sabrina Mundorff and her familyonline.
