MIDDLESEX COUNTY, Va. – A child and two adults survived a plane crash in Topping, Virginia after hitting a house shortly after take off.

State Police say a four seater, single engine Mooney M2DC plane tried to take off from Hummel Field runway when the engine stalled shortly after takeoff.

The plane hit two trees, then crashed into a home in the 400 block of Eubank Landing Road. No one was at home at the time of the crash.

Two witnesses near the scene took photos that show the damage caused by the plane.

“It’s amazing that anybody survived this single engine plane crash,” said Trigor. He was visiting a campground near by when he saw the crash.

The Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation.

The pilot, Keith M. Roxo, a woman and an infant were all taken to the hospital, but have since been released.
