Juvenile arrested in connection to Norfolk 7-Eleven attempted robbery

NORFOLK, Va. - Norfolk Police arrested a 17-year-old male in connection to an attempted robbery that left a 7-Eleven employee suffering from a gunshot wound Tuesday.

Police say the incident occurred around 3:15 a.m. at the 7-Eleven at 3805 Colley Avenue.

The suspect entered the store and walked up to the employee and demanded money. At some point during the attempted robbery, the suspect shot at the employee, hitting them in the arm.

The 29-year-old employee suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment.

The suspect has been charged with attempted robbery, wearing a mask, aggravated malicious wounding and two counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony.

He is currently in the juvenile detention center. His identity will not be released since he is a juvenile.
