Portsmouth Police respond to gas station assault and robbery

PORTSMOUTH, Va. – Portsmouth Police responded to a robbery incident at 3909 Twin Pines Rd. Monday night.

Dispatchers received the call at approximately 10:02 p.m. requesting assistance to the BP gas station and convenience store. Detectives said a male suspect forced his way into the cash register area after assaulting the clerk, then taking the entire cash register drawer. The suspect then exited the location and fled in an unknown direction. The clerk was not injured.
