Police identify victim of fatal Portsmouth shooting

James Street was shot and killed in Portsmouth on Saturday, August 6.

PORTSMOUTH, Va. – A man has died following a shooting in the 2700 block of Barclay Avenue.

The call came in Sunday at 7:41 a.m.

When officers arrived, they found the man with a gunshot wound to his chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim has been identified as 46-year-old James Street.

Police have not released any suspect information or motive at this time.
