Suffolk pharmacy evacuated due to suspicious package, scene cleared

SUFFOLK, Va. – Fire officials were investigating a suspicious package Tuesday afternoon.

The package was found at the Rite Aid in the 1500 block of Holland Road.

A store employee called fire officials around 11:30 p.m. saying the package was found inside the store.

The Rite Aid was evacuated and the entrance was closed during the investigation.

Officials said the scene was cleared around 1 p.m.

The package was found to be a roadside assistance repair bag.
