Hampton Police investigate reports of fake animal adoption ads

HAMPTON, Va. – Police are investigating reports of fake dog ads.

The Hampton Police Department posted that there have been reports of fraudulent advertisements for animal adoptions.

Reports said the criminals are using stock images of animals and arrange payment for adoption over the phone or internet.

Police are warning the public to never conduct transactions over the phone or internet unless you have seen the person and/or items for sale.
