Meth operation found in Suffolk home

SUFFOLK, Va. - Suffolk Police said a methamphetamine manufacturing operation was found in a residence on Friday.

Evidence of the manufacture of methamphetamine was found but there are no hazards currently at the site, police said.

Authorities responded to a home in the 500 block of Roosevelt Drive at 9:24 a.m. for an unrelated matter.

Assistance from Suffolk Fire-Rescue was requested at 10:08 a.m.

Occupants of neighboring areas that were evacuated have been allowed back into their homes.

The 500 block of Roosevelt Drive, between Truman Road and Custis Road, remains closed. All remaining streets that were closed earlier have reopened.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.

There is no information about possible arrests at this time.
