USNS Joshua Humphreys returns to Naval Station Norfolk

Military Sealift Command fleet replenishment oiler USNS Joshua Humphreys completes a vertical replenishment-at-sea with the amphibious transport dock ship USS Mesa Verde.

NORFOLK, Va. – The USNS Joshua Humphreys returned Sunday to Naval Station Norfolk from a 90-day deployment.

Humphreys delivered 3.3 million gallons of fuel and 449 pallets of critical cargo during deployment.  The Humphreys also conducted 17 replentishments for U.S. Naval ships operating in the Eastern Mediterranian Sea and provided at sea services during the 2017 Trilateral Noble Dina Exercise between the American, Israeli and Hellenic Navies.

“Humphreys’ crew is a true testament to MSC’s ability to operate forward and provide an unprecedented level of service to war-fighters around the world,” a Navy spokesperson said.
