Firefighters respond to Hampton house fire

HAMPTON, Va. - Firefighters responded to a house fire in the 1800 block of Womack Drive.

The call came in on Monday just before 5 p.m.

According to officials, the fire was contained to one room and was put out in less than five minutes.

The home had minor smoke and water damage.

Officials are investigating the cause of the fire but believe it to be accidental.

One person was transported for a medical condition not related to the fire.

Two adults have been displaced and are being assisted by The Red Cross.
