VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – A cat tested positive for rabies in Pungo on Wednesday.

The City said the black and white cat was found in the 900 block of Princess Anne Road.

The cat is deceased.

If you or any of your pets have had exposure to stray or wild animals contact your physician or the Health Department at 518-2700.

Rabies is preventable but fatal if left untreated.
