Cat dies after multi-family fire in Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – About 25 firefighters responded to a multi-family fire Sunday night.

Crews were called to the 2600 block of Hartley Street shortly before 8 p.m.

The fire was deemed under control at 8:23 p.m.

No people were injured in the fire but Animal Control was called to assist with a deceased cat.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
