Man charged for Norfolk home invasion that ended in exchanged gunfire

NORFOK, Va. - A man was charged with armed burglary for a home invasion that ended with him and a person in the home being shot.

Officers were called to the 7600 block of Victory Drive at approximately 1:30 a.m. after receiving calls about a shooting.

When they arrived at the scene, officers found two men suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. They were both taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Robert Hicks, 22, forcibly entered the residence. Once inside, Hicks and a 23-year-old man inside the home exchanged gunfire. Both men were shot during the incident are are expected to recover from their injuries.
