Police investigate shooting in Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Police are investigating a shooting that took place Thursday afternoon.

Officers were called to the 5100 block of Dandy Court around 4:15 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers located one male victim suffering from a non-life threatening injury.

Cars were hit after bullets went flying.

"That scares me a lot because that could have been my car. I could have been sitting in it with my son. That's a concern," said Janicia Patterson.

Another Mom, who asked News 3 to hide her identity, said when she heard the shots, she told her daughter to hit the ground to stay safe.

Detectives are continuing to gather details and have not released any suspect information.
