Three in custody after police pursuit in Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH, Va. – Three people are in custody after a police pursuit Monday night.

Police say the pursuit started at 8:40 p.m. at Mt. Vernon Ave., and High Street.

The incident ended at 9:11 p.m. in the 2700 block of Bagley Street with three adult males in custody.

Police say it was not a high speed pursuit and there were no accidents.

The driver of the vehicle failed to stop but police say the person obeyed the speed limit.

Once the vehicle did stop all three individuals in the car were taken into custody without incident.

No one was injured during the pursuit.

There are charges pending for traffic infractions and possible narcotics violations, according to police.
