A cold front will move south of the area tonight and temperatures will continue to fall. Very windy with Winds out of the NNE gusting to 30 mph. Temperatures cooling to the 30s by morning. Drier air will start moving in tomorrow morning. There is a slight chance for a little bit of sleet to mix in with rain early Monday morning. Temperatures look to remain above freezing, so doesn’t look like freezing rain will be an issue. Highs on Monday in the mid to upper 30s to lower 40s. Still on the breezy side with winds out of the north. The cold front will stall off the Carolina coast as high pressure builds in from the north Monday night.

Tuesday is looking mainly dry, but a lingering shower is not out of the question, keeping a 20 percent chance.  Wednesday is looking dry and sunny with highs in the upper 40s to low to mid 50s. Another cold front for Thursday with a chance of rain. High pressure moves in for Friday and the weekend with mostly dry conditions.

Sunday night: Rain at times. Lows in the upper 30s. Breezy. Winds: N 15-20, with gusts up to 30 mph.

Monday: Mostly cloudy. Rainy in the morning through early afternoon. Sleet may mix in with the rain. Highs in the upper 30s to lower 40s. Winds: N 15-20, with gusts up to 30 mph.

Monday night: Mostly to partly cloudy. A slight chance of rain, mainly for northeastern North Carolina. Lows in the mid 30s. Winds: N 10-15, with gusts up to 25 mph.
