Four injured in crash on Whaleyville Road in Suffolk

SUFFOLK, Va. – Four people were injured Friday in a two-vehicle crash on Whaleyville Road/Route 13.

Suffolk Police and Suffolk Fire & Rescue responded to the scene just before noon.

Authorities say the driver of a Chevy Equinox sustained minor injuries in the crash and was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital via ambulance.

Three occupants of a Windstar minivan suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries. Two of them were airlifted to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, one via Nightingale and one via Med Flight 1. The other occupant was taken to Sentara Norfolk General via ambulance.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
