Tracking the cold, a warm up and a wintry mix….Get ready for another roller coaster ride of weather ahead.

As we move through our Friday, after temperatures in the teens and single digit wind chill values, we’ll see high temperatures only reaching the low and mid 30s by afternoon. We’ll see a good deal of clouds out there. Our winds won’t be quite as breezy by the afternoon. Tonight, expect mostly cloudy skies.

Talking about tonight, our weather could get a little interesting. A frontal system to our west will move into the viewing area overnight into Saturday. We’ll likely have a short window of time after midnight that some sleet or freezing rain could develop for a few areas with surface temperatures at or below freezing. However, as we move through our Saturday morning, our temperatures will start to rise as our winds begin turning from the south, turning any wintry precipitation into liquid rain.  So at this time, little to no accumulation is expected at this point with ice.

Scattered rain will be possible through the day on Saturday. Otherwise, we’ll see a good deal of clouds and highs in the mid 60s.

The frontal system will slow down and impact us even on Sunday, giving way to showers. Highs are expected to warm near the lower 70s.

Temperatures will cool back into the 40s by early next week.

This Afternoon: More Clouds Than Sun. Cold. High temperatures in the low to mid 30s. Winds: N 5-15 mph.

Tonight: Mostly Cloudy. Chance of Sleet/Freezing Rain Late. Then the temperatures will rise through the overnight. Low temperatures in the upper 20s and lower 30s. Winds: S 5-10 mph.

Tomorrow: Chance of Sleet/Freezing Rain Early. Then, Chance of Showers (40%). Warmer. Windy. Highs in the mid 60s. Winds SW 15-25 mph, gusts to 30.
