First Warning Storm Team Forecast: Dangerously cold wind chills overnight and Friday morning

The First Warning Storm Team is tracking single-digit wind chills. Make sure you bundle up!

Arctic air will continue to move into the region through Friday. A very cold night on tap. Winds will diminish a bit inland, but will still be a bit breezy near the coast. We could see the coldest air of the season with lows in the teens. Expect wind chills in the single digits.

A frigid start Friday morning with sunshine. Some clouds will start to build in in the afternoon ahead of the next system. Highs will be in the low to mid 30s. Temperatures won’t drop too much overnight. Lows will be in the upper 20s. A chance for a wintry mix or sleet. Everything will change to rain quickly as temperatures warm Saturday. Warm air will quickly move in with rain chances through the afternoon. Highs in the upper 50s to lower 60s. A warm front will move north across the area Saturday night with warming temperatures.

A cold front will cross the region Sunday. Temperatures will be warmer in the morning and cool as the day progresses. Rain chances will increase throughout the day. Colder air will move in Sunday night. A much colder day Monday with highs in the low to mid 40s.

Tonight: Mostly clear and very cold. Still a bit breezy, especially along the coast. Low temperatures in the upper teens and lower 20s. Winds chills in the single digits. Winds: NW 10-20 mph.

Tomorrow: Mixture of sun and clouds. Not as breezy. Highs in the low and mid 30s. Winds N 5-10 mph.

Tomorrow night: Increasing clouds. Chance for rain or sleet late. Temperatures will rise throughout the night. Lows in the upper 20s early. Winds: S 5 -10 mph.
