Large fire at Richmond marina damages boats, shed

RICHMOND, Va. – A large fire at a Richmond marina has damaged a number of boats and a structure on the property, according to reports from WTVR.

Firefighters from both Henrico and Chesterfield Counties responded to the fire at Richmond Yacht Basin, which is located about 13 mliles south of Richmond, along the James River.

Henrico Fire spokesman Capt. Taylor Goodman tells WTVR the fire has damaged a number of boats and a boat shed. Some of the damaged boats were in the shed while others were on the James River.

There were no injuries as a result of the fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
