CONNELLSVILLE, Penn. – A Pennsylvania woman is accused of tearing up her ex-boyfriend’s yard with her car and running over anything in her path.

CBS Pittsburgh reports Mary Jo Smith, 47, showed up at her ex-boyfriend’s home in her Jeep SUV.

Alan McCutcheon said he was outside setting up Christmas lights when Smith yelled “Merry Christmas” and made several passes through the yard, even attempting to run over him, his wife and adult daughter.

“The Christmas decorations were damaged, the vehicle was damaged, property was damaged, the home itself [was damaged],” said Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Stefani Lucas.

Police say the ex-boyfriend attempted to come out of the house and make contact with her, but she attempted to run him over as well. He was forced to jump behind a tree to avoid being hit.

Meanwhile, Smith drove the vehicle into an above-ground pool behind the home.

Eventually, she stopped the vehicle and was subdued by witnesses at the scene.

Smith, who was drunk at the time, now faces multiple felonies, including aggravated assault and DUI.

Police say Smith and the victim hadn’t had any contact for about five years. The victim says she was an old flame he thought was extinguished.
