Currituck man busted running meth lab from his home

CURRITUCK COUNTY, NC – A 45-year-old man was arrested after authorities discovered a meth lab on his property in Currituck County on Wednesday.

The Currituck County Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit and North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation served a search warrant on the home in the 100 block of Rattle Ridge Lane after receiving tips and complaints.

After serving the warrant, it was determined that the residence was being used to manufacture meth.

The meth lab was subsequently removed from the property and authorities arrested 45-year-old John Edward Muth, Jr.

He was been charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, manufacturing methamphetamine, maintaining a dwelling place for sale of a controlled substance, and possession of meth precursors.

Muth is currently in custody at the Currituck County Detention Center on a $250,000 bond.

He’s scheduled to appear in court on December 14.
