Fire damages golf course clubhouse in Chesapeake

CHESAPEAKE, Va. – A fire damaged the clubhouse at the Chesapeake Golf Club in the 1200 block of Club House Drive.

Firefighters were called out to the location around 7 a.m. Sunday morning.

When they arrived, they saw smoke coming from the edges of the roof of the building. Crews located the fire, which was in a closet in the kitchen area.

The fire was under control by 7:30 a.m.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
