Ralph Lee Evarts
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Ralph Lee Evarts, an inmate at the Virginia Beach Jail, died Wednesday evening.
Evarts, 52, was being held on 10 counts of felony possession of child pornography. He was in custody since May 4.
According to jail officials, Evarts suffered from a terminal illness that resulted in his death. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner says Evarts had a cardiovascular disease and died of natural causes.
Evarts was hospitalized at Sentara Princess Anne Hospital since November 16. He had just been released by doctors to return to the jail on Wednesday.
No foul play is suspected.
