Two teens arrested for Hampton Bass Pro Shop burglary

HAMPTON, Va. – A 16-year-old and 17-year-old have been arrested in connection with the burglary of a Bass Pro Shop.

Just before 2 a.m. Monday, dispatch received an alarm activation at the Bass Pro Shop in the 1900 block of Powhatan Parkway.

When officers arrived, they saw the two teens running from the store. They were arrested after a short foot pursuit.

According to police, the two suspects entered the store by breaking out the glass of a side door. Once they got inside, they stole multiple guns, which were taken by officers once the suspects were apprehended.

Both teens were charged with one count of burglary, one count grand larceny and one count of possession of a firearm by a juvenile. They are being held in Newport News Security Detention.
