PEARLAND, Texas – Police have found the body of former NBA player Marcus Camby’s missing nephew.

People in Pearland, Texas, held a vigil for 9-year-old Marcus McGhee Saturday afternoon.

The autistic boy went missing during Thanksgiving celebrations in Camby’s house Thursday night.

His body was discovered at a nearby pond Saturday morning.

A Pearland Police officer says the family is heartbroken after hearing the news.

“This is the worst possible news that the family can get. There are families together, they are devastated and right now more than anything then need our prayers,” said Pearland Police Lt. Onesimo Lopez.

The boy and his family came from Connecticut to spend Thanksgiving with relatives in the area.

Camby played for several NBA teams during his career, including the Houston Rockets.
