Man injured in Hampton Waffle House shooting

HAMPTON, Va. – Police are investigating a shooting at the Waffle House in the 1800 block of West Mercury Boulevard.

Police received a call regarding a shooting at the restaurant shortly after 2:30 a.m. Saturday.

When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a single gunshot wound inside of the restaurant. He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

According to police, the suspect and victim were fighting when the suspect shot at the victim, striking him one time.

The suspect ran away before officers arrived.

Police have not released any suspect information.

This is not the first shooting that has occurred at the restaurant. A man was shot during another incident at the same location on October 1.
