VIRGINIA – Many Powerball players in Virginia got lucky Wednesday…35,359 people won a prize!

However, no one in Virginia or anywhere else matched all six numbers to win the jackpot, which means Saturday’s big prize increases to $403 million.

About 750,000 Powerball tickets are expected to be sold on Saturday alone in Virginia. Powerball tickets in Virginia are expected to sell at about 1,500 tickets per minute during peak purchasing times on Saturday.

If someone wins the $403 million jackpot, they’ll be able to choose between 30 annual payments or a one-time cash option of approximately $243.8 million before taxes.

The profit from Powerball tickets will go to K-12 public education in the Commonwealth.

Powerball drawings are held at 10:59 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays. The cut off time to buy a ticket is 10 p.m. on the night of the drawing.
