Newport News Police look for woman suspected in bank robbery

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Police are looking for a suspect in a bank robbery that happened Friday evening.

Officers were called to the 1st Advantage Credit union at 12891 Jefferson Avenue around 4:50 p.m. on a report of a bank robbery.

Upon arriving, officers were told that a female suspect entered the bank, approached a teller and presented a note demanding money.

The teller gave to suspect an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect then left the building.

No weapons were used during the robbery.

The suspect was described as a black female in her 50s or 60s with a medium build. She was last seen wearing a short black wig, a black jacket and black pants.

The suspect walked with a slight limp and was carrying a red shoulder bag.
