Meteorologist April Loveland’s First Warning Forecast

The First Warning Storm Team is tracking scattered showers for Thanksgiving.

Increasing clouds overnight as a cold front makes its way toward the region. Lows tonight a bit milder in the low to mid 40s. Rain chances increase as we head closer to the morning hours on Thanksgiving. We’re not expecting a complete washout, but you’ll want to keep that umbrella handy. Scattered showers will be possible as a cold front moves in from the west along with a developing area of low pressure offshore. Showers will be possible by mid-morning into the afternoon. Rainfall totals will likely be between a tenth to a quarter of an inch overall. Otherwise, expect mostly cloudy skies. Highs will climb into the lower 60s.

For Black Friday, we’ll have some unsettled weather conditions as low pressure lingers near the coast. Expect mostly to partly cloudy skies with a few scattered showers possible. We’re giving it a 20 percent chance. If you’re heading out early, we’ll see temperatures in the low to mid 40s with highs climbing to the low to mid 60s.

Heading into the weekend, we’re tracking improving weather conditions. We’ll see clearing skies on Saturday with highs in the lower 60s. A cooler and sunny day on tap for Sunday. We’ll see highs in the mid 50s.

Overnight: Increasing clouds. Lows in the low 40s. Winds: S 5-10 mph.

Thanksgiving Day: Mostly cloudy. Scattered showers (50%). Highs in the low 60s. Winds: SW 5-10 mph.

Friday: Mostly cloudy. Chance of showers (20%). Highs in the low 60s. Winds: SE 5-10 mph.
