Norfolk Police take on the mannequin challenge to support adoption awareness

NORFOLK, Va. - People all around the world are participating in the mannequin challenge.

The objective is to freeze in a particular stance in order to look like a mannequin. Some videos have gone above and beyond for the challenge and the Norfolk Police Department's is no different.

Not only did the department participate they also supported adoption awareness with the Norfolk Animal Care Center.

The video says it all as the officers pose with furry friends.

The police department described their partnership with the Norfolk Animal Care Center:

"Our Norfolk's Furriest and Finest community initiative with the Norfolk Animal Care Center speaks to the issues of an often forgotten 2 and 4 legged  community, in addition to a menagerie of other animal without limbs. The awareness is also great for those with a heart for rescue animals, but for one reason or another cant provide shelter, or the expense of a pet, as the Norfolk Animal Care Center is always in need of pet food, and similar supplies."
