Woman driving stolen vehicle in Norfolk flees from police, hits multiple vehicles before arrest

NORFOLK, Va. – A woman driving a stolen car was arrested after a police pursuit on Friday.

According to police they were notified about a woman driving erratically in a pick-up truck in the 2600 block of Tidewater Dr.

An officer tried to stop the woman in the truck on foot but she took off away from the officer toward 26th street.

The officer then got into his vehicle and attempted to catch up to the woman.

The woman drove the pick-up through a red light at 26th Street and Leo Street. During this time she also struck two vehicles. Two adult drivers of the cars that were struck were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The officer caught up to the woman and attempted to pull her from the truck but she sped away again.

At the intersection of 27th Street and Ruffin Way the pick-up truck hit another vehicle, a fence, and then a tree. The adult driver hit by the women in this incident was also taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The woman then got out of the vehicle and ran from the scene as the truck caught fire. The woman was arrested after a short foot pursuit and the vehicle was reported stolen.

Police say charges are currently pending.
