VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - This weekend, Virginia Beach is home to the best small college talent in the country.

With its newly formed “Fall National Championship Week” format, the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) is hosting multiple national championships in Virginia Beach for the first time. The USCAA, formerly the Small College Athletic Association, is made up of 88 colleges and universities.

"It's really pretty here, the beach is beautiful," explained Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences women's soccer player Julia Rosenberger. "It's very relaxing."

"I love it, added Trevor Holdridge, a midfielder for SUNY-Delhi. "It's a lot warmer than upstate New York, that's for sure. And it's a great atmosphere."

The women's volleyball, men's and women's cross country and men's and women's soccer tournaments will be hosted in the Landstown area of Virginia Beach, with the Soccer National Championship pool play taking place at the Princess Anne Sports Complex and semi-finals and finals at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex.  The Volleyball National Championships will take place in the Virginia Beach Field House and the Cross Country race will be on a course around all complexes.  The event kicks off Thursday will pool play in volleyball and soccer.

More than 1200 athletes from 65 schools in 20 states  will be competing this weekend. 2016 is year one of a three-year contract for the Fall Championship Week to be held in Virginia Beach. The USCAA recently moved its headquarters to Norfolk. The economic impact of the '16 Championships is estimated at more than $750,000.
