VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.  - Election 2016 is upon us and voters have some very big decisions ahead of them.

"We have not experienced an election quite like this before," explained Dean Albowish, Chairman of the Virginia  Beach Electorial Board.

According to Albowish, during Presidential Elections there is always an increase in voters compared to other elections. Meaning it is likely that voters will wait on line before casting their vote.

In order to speed up the process, Albowish asks voters to educate themselves on all the decisions they will face in the voting booth, like the constitutional amendments on the ballot.

"I urge all voters to look at the constitutional amendments on the ballots so when they get to the polling location they know how to vote," explained Albowish.

According to Albowish, the first time looking at an amendment can be overwhelming, and if that first time is in a voting booth, it too can cause long lines.

"We have found that if a voter shows up at the polls without knowing how they want to vote on those issues it causes quiet a delay because they are reading the ballot for the first time and they may not understand what it means," said Albowish.
