LONDON – It was about as even as a tie could get. Missed opportunities on both sides left Washington and Cincinnati with an extra “1” in their records.

The Redskins (4-3-1) got a career performance out of Kirk Cousins. He threw for a career-high 458 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception on 48-for-56 passing.

The receiving core saw an immediate boost  with the return of tight end Jordan Reed (concussion). The first play from scrimmage went for seven yards to Reed.

The Redskins’ opening drive seemed to be an indication of what fans have been waiting to see, solid running, and hitting all of their offensive weapons. Of the 15 plays for 80 yards, Cousins’ threw on 10 of them, hitting three different receivers. Rookie running back Robert Kelley finished the drive off with a four-yard touchdown run, the first of his career. He rushed for 87 yards on 21 carries.

The game had an extra period though, going a full 15 minutes of overtime, and not one team scoring, not even a field goal. Dustin Hopkin’s missed a 34-yard that would’ve won the game with two-minutes to go.

This is the first season with two ties in one season since 1997. The ‘Skins are idle next week. They next play November 13th, at Fedex Field vs. the Vikings.
