Sunday’s First Warning Forecast: Tracking near-record heat

Posted
and last updated

The First Warning Storm Team is tracking near-record heat for your Sunday.

If you have any plans on Sunday, looks like it’s going to be a warm one! The record high for Norfolk is 84 degrees and we could see highs right around that. Mostly sunny skies for Sunday. A cold front will push through the region Sunday night. Now, there isn’t a lot of moisture associated with this frontal system, so rain chances will remain slim. The one thing we will get from this front is a drop in temperatures.

High pressure will build in on Monday keeping conditions dry. Expect temperatures in the 60s for Halloween with a few more clouds. It will be a little on the breezy side with gusts up to 25 mph.  Dry conditions heading into Tuesday with temperatures back into the 70s. We’ll see the mid-70s by mid-week with low rain chances. We could see a shower on Friday, but as of now, chances are only 20 percent.

Have a safe and Happy Halloween!

Sunday: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy. Near-record heat. Highs in the lower 80s (record for Norfolk is 84°) . Winds: SW 5-10 mph.

Halloween: Much cooler with highs in the mid 60s. Mostly clear to partly cloudy. A bit on the breezy side. Winds: N 10-15 G 25 mph.
