VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Hurricane Matthew brought high flood water to the Windsor Woods section of Virginia Beach causing damage to the majority of the homes there.
Neighbors say they have lost nearly all of their belongings in the flood. What is left is now in their yards, trying to dry out.
According to residents, as their few belonging lay out in the sun, people looking for scrap metal and salvageable goods are now taking their things.
To protect themselves, neighbors have started to block off their belongings with caution tape and signs reading "Do Not Touch."
Neighbors say they are hurt that people assume they can just go through their belongings and take what they want. Even if they are eventually planning on getting rid of the items they still need them for insurance purposes.
