Police investigate after man stabbed several times in Newport News

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Police are investigating after a man was stabbed multiple times Tuesday night.

Officers were called to the 3600 block of Marshall Ave. around 10:45 p.m. on a report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located a 23-year-old Newport News man lying on the floor in a vacant residence. Officers observed multiple wounds in the area of his abdomen, one near his buttocks and one on his wrist.

The victim told police he was coming from 36th Street and then became unresponsive.

Medics took the victim to a local hospital where it was revealed that the victim’s wounds were from a stabbing and not a shooting.

There is no suspect information.

The victim is listed as stable.
