Marcus Vick arrested for drug possession in Newport News

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Former Virginia Tech quarterback Marcus Vick was arrested for drug possession in Newport News on Saturday, according to Newport News Police.

Officers were investigating a drug complaint in the 2200 block of Radius Way just before 5 p.m. Saturday evening.

As they approached the door, officers reported a strong smell of marijuana coming from the apartment.

The door was opened by a man who was later identified as Vick and officers advised him he was being detained.

Vick gave the officers permission to enter the apartment and the officers detained four other men who were inside.

The investigation revealed that the apartment was Vick’s residence and he consented to a search.

As a result of the search, Vick was arrested and charged with one count of possession of a schedule I or II drug.
