NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - As a new mom to a one-year-old girl and one-month-old baby boy, even going to the store can be a daunting task.

"She keeps me on my toes as it is," says Kelsey Huddleston, a Hampton mom.

For that reason, Kelsey says she is not surprised she walked into the Baby's-R-Us on Jefferson Avenue to get a purchase fixed on Monday afternoon, and accidentally left her purse and diaper bag in her van.

"I have a huge double stroller that I'm just now figuring out how to even work, so I got out, got her out, got him out, walked to the store," she says. "I didn't think anything of it."

After about an hour in the store, she says she came back to her car to find the two items gone.

However, it was not just her debit card and diapers stolen.

Kelsey says those bags contained her insurance and social security cards for her family, along with some outfits for her daughter Bryn'Leigh, and toys that she had since she was an infant.

"That's just what makes me the most angry at the situation, that they stole from my child," she says. "I had a photographer in my delivery room when I gave birth to my child, and that disc was in my purse."

Kelsey says she called her bank to find her card was immediately used for two purchases before she could cancel it. The thief went to an ABC liquor store and made a purchase at Wendy's.

"You know if you would have went and bought groceries or something like that it wouldn't have hurt me as bad," she says. "A disgusting person, an absolutely disgusting person."

After filing a report with Newport News Police, Kelsey says she called the ABC store herself with the details on the purchase and was given two pictures of a man behind it. News 3 is choosing to blur his face until police officially name him as a suspect. As of now, police say the case is still under investigation.

As she tries to replace the items, Kelsey says she is never leaving anything in her car again.

"You just can't trust anybody, you can't trust anybody at all."
