Portsmouth, Va. - It was a track meet from the opening kickoff. Kavante Dawson decided to take the first play of the game to the house to put the Greyhounds up 8-0 before people could even sit down.

Dawson would punch another run in on the ground in the second quarter to help Norcom avenge last season's 21-12 loss to Wilson. The President's couldn't get much going on offense. They got contributions from Aaron Moore on the ground, but had a hard time finding the end zone.

At halftime, Portsmouth Mayor Kenny Wright declared September 30th through October 6th "LaShawn Merritt Week", as well as presenting the 4-time Olympic Medalist with the first-ever key to the city.

Earlier in the day, the Presidents unveiled a wall in honor of Merritt and his contributions to the school and the city. "There's a lot of people that come from this area and sticking together lets the world know that you can do whatever you want to do," says Merritt.
