EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - At 0-2, the Redskins weren't pushing the panic button yet, but they were hoping to showcase a more cohesive performance, especially on offense.

Instead, the Redskins got even bigger showings on special teams and defense to win a classic NFC East divisional game 29-27 on Sunday afternoon.

The 'Skins got 15 points from Dustin Hopkins field goals. But when the defense needed to get off the field, they made plays. A one-handed interception in the red zone by Quinton Dunbar started the 4th quarter. Down 27-26 with 7:59 to go, the 'Skins drove 56 yards and chewed up 6:00 of play clock to kick the go-ahead field goal.

The unlikely hero was rookie linebacker Su'a Cravens, who intercepted Eli Manning to thwart the Giants last chance and ice the game.

Not to go unnoticed was Kirk Cousins better play. He passed 21-35 for 296 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions. It wasn't a coming-out party for the offense, but Cousins connected with eight different receivers in the game.

Desean Jackson hauled in his first touchdown of the season, totaling out with 96 yards receiving.
