CHESAPEAKE, Va. - If you ever struggle to figure out what to get your kid for the holidays, some area preschoolers are taking action to help you out.

Kids at The Goddard School in Chesapeake tested out a variety of educational toys all this week to help you figure out the best kid-approved educational toys.

The testing is taking place at 50 Goddard schools across the country.  This is the first time the Chesapeake location has been chosen.

The kids will be voting on their favorites to come up with a top ten list.

"The children are actually interacting with the toys and they're playing with the toys and they're learning through that process, so it makes it exciting for them at the same time, so learning is fun," said Katie Cornatzer, owner of The Goddard School in Chesapeake.

The toys that make it into the top ten will be announced on November 1st, and then they'll be put to a public vote to determine the top educational toy of the season.

After it's chosen, the school system will be donating a hundred of the winning toys to Toys for Tots.
