Lunches, backpacks, keys... there's a lot to think about before you head out the door in the morning.

Saving time during your morning routine is crucial. There are a few things you can do to get you and your family out the door on time and avoid that morning rush.
"One of them is having a place for everything," says Richard Lecours, the Founder and CEO of Arange. "That’s kind of the hardest thing is where is it? I gotta find it. So determining a place for everything to go is kinda where its at."

Lecours and his partner, Lisa Dailey, own and operate Arange, a Hampton Roads based organization company.

"One of the things that we like to do with our clients is set up kind of a kid central," says Lecours.

The 'kid central' is basically home base for everything. It's where all information comes and goes, including homework, permission slips, and schedules. It's also where backpacks and lunch boxes are stored.

"Its very easy to do," says Dailey.

"It takes about half an hour of shopping and about 20 minutes of set up and then a few minutes everyday," says Lecours. "And then all of a sudden you get in to the habit, but its paying you that time back."

So it takes a little time up front, but it will pay you back double when you're rushing around in the mornings.

The second thing to do to make mornings easier? Get things off your checklist before the morning even comes.

"There's also some things you can do at night so that the morning goes a little quicker," says Lecours. "You don’t have a lot of time before bed, but you’ve got even less time in the morning."

Before you go to sleep you can pack the lunches, lay out outfits and have everything set up and ready to grab on your way out the door.
"You want to have a place where you can keep everything so that its right at your fingertips," says Lecours. "As you come in the door, you drop your keys, you drop your wallet, you drop your glasses, whatever it is that you're going to be looking for on your way out the next morning... you want to keep it all in one place."
